Builth Wells Club Programme 2009 - 2010

This dish has been sampled by the club's 47 members. It was made using only the best local ingredients.

  • As a starter the dance team came 2nd in the Strictly Come Dancing and Mairwen won the Senior Pop Idol at the Guildhall in April.
  • The main dish was the Annual Rally in June where the club came 1st in the Promotional Sign and Table Making and 2nd in the Mime to Music, Stars in your Eyes and Floral Art. The club achieved 3rd with their Main Ring Display.
  • Members seasoned the summer with a serving of entertainment at this year's Music on the Meadow, raising £3,700 for charity.
  • From the a la carte menu, our AGM was held in the Council Chamber at County Hall by kind invitation of the Chairman of Powys, Cllr David Price.
  • Add to the mixture a series of club nights including ten pin bowling, Chinese takeaways, rally slides and board games.
  • With one large helping of Skills for Life classes in October members created Christmas tree decorations blended with an array of Yuletide treats.
  • November brought an explosion of flavour at the Bonfire Night jointly hosted with Erwood YFC. Members whisked up a series of successes at the County Competitions day including 1st with the Box Display, 2nd in the Floral Art, 2nd in the Generation Game and 3rd with the Junior Reading and Public Speaking teams. What a dish of delight's!
  • Members chilled a little carol singing and organised the Carol Service raising over £250 for Kidney Wales and the Church.
  • Alex proved to be a prime cut with a 1st in the Lamb Trimming and Reserve Champion at the Winter Fair with his prize winning heifer.
  • The junior's feast of entertainment, provided a banquet fit for a king at this year's Drama Festival, with their winning production of ‘Henry the VIII' also gaining the trophy for Best Set. ‘Only Nan's Allowed' simmered in their one plus entry, winning the Choreography Cup.
  • ‘Shakers', a cocktail of senior drama scooped the awards for Best Production and Best Actress and represented Brecknock at the Wales Finals in March.
