Bwlch & Crickhowell YFC Club Report 2009-2010
An enjoyable year we are pleased to tell
As Bwlch and Crickhowell have done very well.
In Llandefalle Rally we came fifth
We could not have done better if we had wished.
Prizes we had plenty, third, second, first.
With our successes we worked up a thirst!
The boys went to the Royal Welsh to pull tug of war
Where they pulled the opposition across the floor!
Cwmdu hall was the venue for our social night,
The late night rounders caused some play fights.
At Llangynidr show we served tea and cakes,
Over 2000 people came through the gates.
Our AGM was held in September
Where we vowed to make it a year to remember.
Ian Greenow was summoned to the Chair,
Sarah and Ceri as secretaries, a dubious pair!
We held a promise auction at Llangynidr hall
Raising funds for us all.
The collection of promises we had for sale
Raised money for Air Ambulance Wales.
We had stock judging practices learning ABXY
Making sure that we kept the standards high.
In the have-a-go a second we snatched
Our singing voices weren't quite up to scratch!
In the fencing competition our boys did not disgrace
As the judge awarded them a fine first place
We had the club promotion, farm safety, county exhibit
And Megan and Nicola's tree decorating was exquisite!
At competitions day our club display was a bit daft,
But Emma saved the day coming third in the craft.
In November we held or annual bonfire night
Where we set Cwmdu valley all alight.
With bowling, golfing and car treasure hunt
Rhys's team was first at the front.
Our Christmas party was a hit,
Ian made us all cringe with his splits!
The start of the plays was indeed a drama,
We wrote of play about a wife and farmer.
The young members were put to the test
But they rose to the challenge and gave it their best.
The boys practised hedging with hacker and spade,
And showed the County how a hedge is laid!
Bowling, football and hockey we did enter
We left victorious from Brecon Leisure Centre.
Preparation for the rally is now underway,
Good luck to everyone on the day.
Our gratitude to supporters we cannot express,
We hope that Bwlch and Crick continues to progress.
