Pontfaen YFC Club Report

Another busy year has gone and it's that time again to write the club report. Last years Rally was hosted by Llandefalle YFC and saw Pontfaen YFC coming seventh overall. Sheep shearing, one man and his dog and flower arranging were just some of the competitions that we entered.

In September we held our Annual General Meeting, where new officers were chosen and new members greeted.

Throughout October and November members enjoyed a whole range of fun activities from ten pin bowling, sports and a haunted fire works night. They even tried their hand at whist, but unfortunately weren't a match for the professionals.  It was a great turn out with 14 tables and thanks go to all the helpers for making the sandwiches and teas.

Competitions day and field day saw many members from the club competing. Competition day was very successful especially in the flower arranging and saw the club coming sixth overall. Notable achievement was also had at the debating competition in which the club came second.

Money collected from the annual carol singing was given to the Wales YFC charity Kidney Wales. The club was extremely lucky and managed to secure funding of nearly £700 to go towards first aid training for all its members and leaders.

After lots of practice came drama week were we entered a couple of one pluses. Sadly the judge did not share our enthusiasm and we weren't placed in the top three.

I would like to say a huge thank you to the club leaders and members and everyone for their support this year, and look forward to the year ahead.
