Ystradfellte YFC Club Report 2010 - 2011

Once again its time for the club report. And what an eventful year it has been for Ystradfellte Yfc.
Rally day and the members were taking part in as many competitions as possible, but typical for the club no wins were coming our way but as we all know winning isn’t everything!
Soon enough the AGM was with us and no great change came to the officers roles, but at least we have our meeting place back in the village hall. And lucky enough for a few new members joining the club.
Through the winter programme events ranged from carcase judging and sampling the meat after, to a Chinese night followed by keep fit to burn it all off. Also a talk off Mary Phillips of her Canada visit.
Members took part in a first aid training course provided by Hirwaun St Johns Ambulance service, with all members gaining a 3 year certificate.
With having raised money for Wales Air ambulance last year we invited them to give a talk and presented them with a cheque. Also money was donated to buy a plot of rainforest.
This year due to the icy weather in December we missed a month of club meetings and social events.
Our annual fundraisers for the club this year was a bonfire and fireworks display for the community that went off with a bang, we also held our annual whist drive and a quiz with the county quiz master Mr and Mrs G Probert.
We had a successful grant application which helped us to buy a defibrillator for the community along with a lot of other things that the community will benefit from.
With a bit of a break for lambing hopefully the club will be rearing for the 2011 rally and make an improvement on last year.
Lastly it just remains to thank everyone who has supported the club over the past year and to all the old and new members for their continued support and may we gain in confidence and carry on improving.
