Wales YFC Calf Rearing Competition
How to compete:
Members to purchase a calf from a market or home farm by 1st August 2009. Calves to be born between 1st February and 31st May 2009. Members can nominate two calves but will have to decide on their final entry by the 31st October 2009. All calves should be purchased by 1st August and must be made available for tagging and inspection one month following the closing date.
To Enter you must be:
- Current Wales or Herefordshire YFC member
- 26 years old or under on the 1st September 2008.
- Please note that due to RWAS rules no member under 14 are allowed to compete due to health & Safety reasons.
NatWest FINANCE
Through the sponsorship of this competition, members will have the opportunity of borrowing up to £750 interest free from the NATWEST bank PLC to purchase their calf.
Parental gurantee - required for all competitors under 18 years. The initial loan to be reimbursed to the bank by 31st January 2010.
Competitors will be required to keep all relevant costings, which must be submitted in the form of a small display for judging before the Fair. The "Best Stockman" trophy will be awarded to this section.
Judging will take place at the Royal Welsh Winter Fair on Monday 31st November and Tuesday 1st December 2009. Members will have the opportunity of entering their calf in the sale following judging.
