The Lamb Trimming Competition was held on Sunday 8th November 2009 by kind permission of Mr & Mrs Lewis Edwards of Maesgwyn Farm, Llandefalle, Brecon.
After the success of last years competition it was agreed to run two categories for this year; one for members 26 years and or under and one for members 16 years and or under. Members had to prepare a lamb for a fat stock show. They had an hour and a half to trim and prepare one lamb. Judges Mr & Mrs S Gibbons were marking members on their use of shears, preparation and carding and the finished lamb.
The competition was of a very high standard with 27 competitors across the county participating with members as young as 12 years of age having a go.
The winner of the Senior Section William Gittoes of Llandefalle YFC will now represent the County at the Welsh Winter Fair on Monday 30th November 2009.

Competitors were highly commended by the judge and were congratulated on the quality of their trimming.
