WALES YFC’S GLOBE-TROTTERS ANNOUNCED AT BRIEFING DAY!

16th November 2010

On Sunday the 14th of November the Wales YFC International Briefing Day was held at the Wales YFC centre on the Royal Welsh Showground, Builth Wells. During the day 19 members were told that they had been chosen to represent Wales YFC in places as far afield as Canada, and as close to home as Scotland, as part of the Wales YFC international travel programme for 2011.

The international programme is an important part of the organisations work and it aims to encourage members understanding of other cultures and gives them the opportunity to travel to different places and experience new activities. The programme also asks the YFC clubs in Wales and their members to host members from similar organisations over the summer months.

Kay Morgan, Chairman of Wales YFC's activities and international committee said that yet again the briefing day had been very successful, with over 30 members hoping to be selected for the various opportunities on offer.

"Our members obviously feel that the opportunities for international travel offered by Wales YFC are extremely worthwhile. The programme ensures that young people in rural areas can benefit from the valuable experience of travel and exchange visits with other young people from across the world. The visits on offer are totally unique. These are not holidays. The objective is to give our members a special insight into the lives of members who live in a different country and to experience different cultures and a different way of life," she said.
