Builth Wells YFC Win 2024 Senior Drama Competition

Last week Brecknock YFC held their 75th Annual Drama Festival at Theatr Brycheiniog Brecon, and what a week it was.

258 members took to the stage and performed in either a Senior Drama, An Audience with, Senior and Junior One Plus Competitions.

The standard and talent was outstanding and we would like to thank the producers, members, parents and helpers for providing excellent productions and raising the profile and talent the YFC movement has.  

On behalf of the federation we would like to thank our judges Mr Alan Hayes GODA and Miss Bethan Anthony, our stewards, county officials, Ioan, Adam, Carl (Theatre Staff), Theatr Brychieniog for providing an outstanding venue, filming Tab Wheeler, Photographers Andrew Bufton, Ruth Rees, our sponsors Hay & Brecon Farmers, Caleb Roberts Insurance Services LTD, W J James & Co, W W Bowen, Honddu Vets, Welsh Farm Supplies, Behind Bars, Williams Coaches and FUW for your continued support and all those who supported our event.

A huge congratulations must go to Builth Wells YFC on winning the Senior Drama Competition with their production ‘The 39 Steps, Abridged, produced by Lynne Jones & David Price. Builth Wells YFC will now go forward and represent the county at all Wales YFC Finals on the 10th March at Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon. We would like to wish you the very best of luck. Please come along and support Builth Wells YFC on the 10th, tickets on sale direct with the Theatre from the 26th February. 

Congratulations to Trecastle YFC for winning the ‘An Audience With..’ competition, with their production tilted An Audience With Shrek,  produced by Shelly & Katie Davies.

Senior One Plus competition was awarded to Sennybridge YFC with their performance ‘Quick Sketch’ and winning the Junior One Plus competition was Llandefalle YFC their performance titled ‘Shribble’

·        FUW Award for Best Actor 18 years or under – Riley Pontfaen YFC

·        FUW Award for Best Actress 18 years or under – Tilly Builth Wells YFC

·        Spin Dog Award for best Set – Sennybridge YFC with their production An Audience with Willy Wonka.

·        Sally Cooper Award for Best Choreography – Erwood YFC with their Production An Audience with The Doctor

·        Builth Wells YFC Trophy for best Written Production – Builth Wells YFC with their production An Audience with Noah

·        NFU Mutual Trophy for the Best Production at the Festival – Trecastle YFC with their production An Audience with Shrek.
