Preparations are in full flow for the 71st Annual Drama/Pantomime & One Plus Festival. Tickets for the week long festival (5th - 10th February 2018) will go on sale this coming Monday 15th January 2018 from Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon.
The first draw of 2018 will take place on Friday 9th February 2018 during the 71st Annual Drama/Pantomime & One Plus Festival. Membership is £10.00 a year and the lucky 1st prize winner will receive £150.00, in the recent Christmas Draw the winner was new member Kirsty Rea from Llandefalle YFC. There are two draws per year one in February and one in December.
Brecknock Public Speaking Day will be held on Sunday 25th February 2018 at various buildings on the Royal Welsh Showground to include; Wales YFC Centre, LANTRA and FUW Pavilion.

Claire and Chris would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. The YFC Office will be closed from 12.00 noon on Friday 15th December 2017 and will be re-opening on Tuesday 2nd January 2017.
Brecknock YFC held its Achievement Day last Saturday at Hafod-y-Hendre, Llanelwedd. After careful consideration and seeking advice from both Dyfed Powys Police and Powys County Council, Brecknock YFC Officials agreed to continue with their annual Achievement Day.
Brecknock YFC will be hosting a busy day tomorrow (Saturday 9th December) at Hafod-y-Hendre, RWAS, Llanwelwedd, LD2 3NJ. Competitions will start from 10am with the Club Display and Junior Fence Erecting with a packed programme concluding at 3pm with the Group Singing Competition and Junior and Senior Member of the Year. Brecknock YFC Senior Social Trip to Carmarthenshire YFC Christmas Ball - Tuesday 19th December 2017 at Idols, Swansea. Tickets £25 (to include entrance & Bus) To book your place please pay you £25 no later than Monday 4th December 2017.
If you are a senior member aged 18 years and over and are keen to attend the National AGM 4-6th May 2018 then deposits are being taken. £100 needed no later than the 12th December 2017.
The announcement was made last night at the Executive that Claire Price, current Brecknock YFC Development Manager will be leaving the organisation. Claire has worked for the organisation for 13 years and has found the decision very hard to leave the movement.
Brecknock YFC Carcase Competition was held recently at George Butchers Talgarth with reason giving taking place at Gwernyfed RFC. Members from across the County judged one line of Lamb, beef and pork carcases. The winners will now go forward to represent the County in the Wales YFC final held at the Welsh Winter Fair on Monday 27th November 2017.
Mark Powell County Chair and John Price Vice County Chair are on a mission to visit as many clubs as they can this year and get the FUN back into YFC. Attending your local club on a weekly basis is a really important part of YFC. Competing is not for everyone and if you do not enjoy that side of the organisation then that is absolutely fine. But attending your local club is important, that is where you will meet people, learn skills, experience new things and have FUN.
The Competitions Committee will be meeting shortly (Thursday 23rd November 2018) to discuss and agree the Rally Competitions for 2018. This is your opportunity as a member to have your say and contribute to the Competitions programme for the 2018 Rally.
NFU Cymru has once again shown its support to Brecknock YFC through committing to sponsor the county Federation’s stockjudging competition.
The annual event, which was held recently, attracted over 60 members aged between 10 and 26 to compete against each other in a range of competitions; pig judging, beef judging, Dairy Cattle, butchers lamb judging and an animal health questionnaire.
There will be an informal evening with Gary Fitzpatrick on Wednesday 6th December 2017 at Brecon RFC starting at 7pm. To include information about calf rearing; housing environment, health and behavior of the calf and key points to consider when buying calves.
The Brecknock YFC Stockman Day will take place this coming Sunday 12th November 2017 at Brecon Livestock Market, Brecon. The event has been kindly sponsored by NFU Cymru.
