Brecknock YFC Annual General Meeting and Awards Presentation Evening

On Sunday, 28th September 2025, Brecknock YFC held its Annual General Meeting and Awards Presentation Evening at Jubilee Hall, Llanelwedd.

During the proceedings, Mr. Rob Healey formally handed over the role of County President to Mr. Gwyn Protheroe, with Mrs. Tracey Jones being elected as Deputy President. Outgoing Chair, Mr. Niall Evans, stepped down from his position. On behalf of the Federation, we extend our sincere gratitude to Niall for his hard work, unwavering support, and dedication to the staff, officials, and members throughout the past twelve months.

Mr. Samuel Powell of Erwood YFC was elected as the new County Chair, with Mr. Baden Davies of Libanus YFC elected as County Vice Chair.

The Chair’s chosen charities for 2024/2025 were Sands, Samaritans, and Cancer Research. Over the past year, through a variety of events organized under Niall’s leadership, a total of £6233.97 was raised and subsequently distributed equally among the three charities.

The Board of Management expressed appreciation to those completing their terms of office: Miss. Megan Powell, Mr. Niall Evans, Ms. Shan Evans, and Mrs. Sharon Healey.

In recognition of his longstanding commitment and valued friendship to the Federation, Mr. Andrew Bufton was elected as an Honorary Life Vice President. The Federation extended its gratitude for his many years of dedicated service with a small token of appreciation and, in his honour, established a new award—The Outstanding New Member Award.

Brecknock YFC wishes to sincerely thank all outgoing county officials for their dedication and contributions over the past year. The Federation also expresses its heartfelt thanks to its main sponsors, Hay & Brecon Farmers, alongside the many other businesses whose continued support is invaluable.

We also acknowledge with gratitude the Judges, Stewards, Host Families, Stock and Equipment Providers, Parents, Leaders, and, most importantly, our Members. Your commitment ensures the continued growth and success of the YFC movement and helps sustain this remarkable organisation for future generations.
