Andrew Bufton - legacy that continues

A Gold Kite Award was presented by Cllr William Powell to honour Andrew Bufton, after being nominated by Cllr Gareth Ratcliffe, in memory of his lifelong dedication to Brecknockshire Young Farmers.

Andrew joined Talgarth YFC at just 12 and quickly became such a big part of it all. From photography and filming to sound engineering, he was behind so many rallies, competitions and drama festivals—capturing moments that people will look back on for years to come.

He was known for his kindness, his humour, and just being an all-round great person to have around. Someone you could always rely on, and someone who meant a lot to so many. Andrew gave so much to the county, and it showed in everything he did. Being elected County President was a real reflection of that.

He really was an outstanding man who made a huge impact on Brecknockshire Young Farmers, and his legacy will carry on for a long time.

The award was accepted by his family on his behalf, which was a really special moment and couldn’t have gone to a more deserving man
