Brecknock YFC members set off to Blackpool this weekend for National AGM.
Brecknock YFC members traveled to Camarthen on Saturday 21st April to compete at Wales YFC Field Day.
Congratulations to Angharad Jones from Sennybridge YFC for winning the 2018 Rally Poster Competition. With 32 entries in total and the standard once again was very high.
Members from Brecknock Young Farmers’ Clubs (YFC) were out planting oak trees on Friday 23rd March 2018, creating a YFC woodland in partnership with Natural Resources Wales (NRW) to celebrate Wales YFC 80th anniversary. It is part of a mixed deciduous woodland which is located along the Taff Trail in Talybont Forest.
Wales YFC Public Speaking Weekend was held on Saturday 24th March 2018. A successful day it was for Brecknock YFC with gaining 2nd in Just a Minute, 2nd English Junior Reading, 2nd English Public Speaking, 1st Disco Dancing and 2nd Overall in the English Section. Members will now represent Wales YFC at National Level with the Disco Dancing and English Junior Public Speaking. Congratulations to all members who competed and best of luck at National.

The NFYFC Council has proposed an increase of £5 to the national subscription (otherwise known as the levy) so that more investments can be made in services for YFC members.
To celebrate Wales YFC’s 80th anniversary, an oak sapling was given to each member of the Wales Federation of Young Farmers. The 6000 saplings were kindly donated by the Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire Coast and Snowdonia National Park Authorities, together with Tilhill Forestry.
Brecknock YFC are pleased to welcome two new members of staff. Gwen Samuel started with the organisation on the 5th March as the new Events Manager and Julie Williams started on the 13th March as the new Development Manager.

The Fence Erecting Competition took place on Saturday 17th February 2018, kindly hosted by Bwlch & Crickhowell YFC and sponsored by DG Jones Agri.
Brecknock YFC Public Speaking Day will take place on Sunday 25th February being held in various buildings on the Royal Welsh Showground.
Brecknock YFC have been successful in securing funding to support training in the Agricultural sector to further a rural based career. The funding will be available until January 2021. There will be two windows of opportunity per year to access the fund. Round 1 is now open and will close on the 31st March 2018.
Powys County Council will be running the following training sessions. This training is available for Club leaders, Club/County Officials and Senior Members free of charge.
The Millennium Stadium Charitable Trust have awarded Brecknock YFC funding to spend on Club activities. The money can be spent on activities to do with healthy eating, physical activities, games or sports. The list below is a guide as to what the money can be spent on:
Brecknock YFC’s 71st Annual Drama/Pantomime and One Plus competition took place last week (5th-10th February 2018). The week-long festival saw around 400 members taking part and included 1 Junior Dramas, 7 Pantomimes, 15 Senior One Plus and 16 Junior One Plus. The Junior Drama and Pantomime was judged by Mike Kaiser (GODA). Adam Rees and Edward Hammond from Radnor YFC judged the Junior One Plus and Senior One Plus competition.
The Senior and Junior Fence Erecting Competitions will take place this Saturday 19th February 2018. The competition will take place in the field behind Llanbedr School, Llanbedr, Crcikhowell, Powys, NP8 1SR. Hosted by Bwlch & Crickhowell YFC.
